DAY 1 - 1/12/07
reached s'pore airport at 11 plus. missed survivor =( grabbed a BK burger b4 boarding the flight. haha we were the last group to board the flight and everyone was like looking at us when we entered the plane. the plane food sucked.
haha anyway arrived at yun nan - kunming international airport. not used to the cold yet. so everyone rushed onto the bus after meeting our tour guide - yao li. she's nice haha. had MCs coffee! WEE.
couldnt rmb much bout day one since its the first day. but i rmb the hotel. it was a 5-star one ahha. the adults went shopping at night so we the kids played pool. and i aws reminded of how bad i sucked at it lol. shared a room with my sis. hardly slept at all though.
DAY 2 - 2/12/07
5 Hr bus ride to Dali. had probably one of the most shocking experiences of my life. HAHAHAHAHAHA.
well we stopped at this place for a toilet break and when we went inside the toilet, we found out that the toilet cubicles had no freaking DOOR! Goodness we were all like 'ohmygod!'. HAHAHAHA i dunno why but China women dun seem to like flushing the toilet after use so we saw shit of diff shapes and sizes. seriously. haha so the five female cousins and i took turns taking the toilet. six of us waiting for one cubicle. HAHAHA cuz the other five will be blocking the toilet door from any outside view. the toilet cleaner was pretty amused cuz our cubicle was the only one shelter. went back to the bus and the guys were all laughing at us. super funny.
anyway had a new tour guide. forgot her name though. xiao something. another 5-star hotel. slept really well this time haha.
DAY 3 - 3/12/07
4 hr bus ride to lijiang. changed tour guide again. his name was xiao luo. its funny how they address stuff using their own names or 'za men' instead of 'wo'.
Eg. 'Za men/xiao luo dai4 ni3 men2 qu4 chi1 fan4' (xiao luo bring u ppl go eat)
hahahaha imagine sinyee bring u ppl to fish and co.
stayed in a lovely lovely villa. ohmygod damn cool lar. a villa is way better than staying in an hotel. the villa had 3 levels. the living, dining and kitchen were on the first level while there were 2 bedrooms each on teh 2nd and 3rd level. haha dan each villa will have a housekeeper dat the cook clean and do whatever for u. super cool. and big too. the tv screen was like really big and flat. each bedroom has their own tv too. they also have a computer which we can use for free! haha my cousin was joking that she wouldnt mind living there for real.
nightime was cold though. each bedroom was supposed to have a heater and all of us thought we had it switched on. thats wat we thought lar. turned out the main switch for the heater wasnmt on so basically, we were freezing throughout the whole night. and i stayed paralyzed to my position on the bed cuz the other parts of the bed was damn cold. everyone was complaining in the morning. haha my uncle was saying "ban4 wan3 cha1 yi1 dian3 bei4 dong4 si3" (almost freeze to death in the middle of the night. HAHA ate cup noodles b4 sleeping too.
DAY 4 - 4/12/07
stayed at the same villa again. YEAH! haha tried using the computer but couldnt sign in into MSN. was kinda pissed cuz my bro and my cousins had no problems signing in but somehow i cant. lol imagine how cool it'd be if i can actually sign in.

haha went over to the next villa to play with my nephew. SUPER SUPER CUTE!
escaped back to my villa next to play pig. haha we played til we were super high and we laughed like crazy at every small little thing. my bro lost and he had to stand out in the cold for 30secs haha. so poor thing. it was really cold outside and u'll be shivering just running around for 3secs. haha the heater was on later in the night - thankfully - but it aws still kinda cold though.
was quite sad to leave the villa in the morning. wonder where else in the world can we find such lodging again.
DAY 5 - 5/12/07
4 Hr bus ride to Shangri-la. this was the coldest part of the trip. one of the most unforgettable moments too. haha we were all dreading this day in fact. well anyway what happen was that the bus got stuck in the snow(YES SNOW =DD) and everyone on the bus had to get out to trek on the road while other nice nice drivers stopped to help push the bus. so we got out onto the road which was super slippery cuz some snow was frozen. my cousin said it was like ice skating except ours was in shoes and not skates lol. had to walk in pairs incase anyone of us fell down.
had a new tour guide too. xiao zhen. anyway visited this tribe house and we were getting ready to leave when it started to snow! OHMYGOD SUPER COOL! the snowing was slight but we were all still fascinated nevertheless. stayed in a 4-star hotel. the tour guide told us not to bathe cuz it was too cold to get naked so all of us didnt bathe. HAHAHA we were warned not to get too high too cuz damage will be done to the brain or something. so we were really careful when we played pig later at night. watched da vinci code too. prefer the book but the movie was nice too. the night temp was like -10degree celsius but there was a heater in every room lar.
DAY 6 - 6/12/07
Took a 50 min plane ride back to kunming. met our first tour guide again. liek yao li the most out of the four tour guides that we had.
went to the bus and there was this photographer inside. haha he gave roses to everyone of us. call him the flower guy. oh just realised that i dont know his real name. he's supposed to make a video of our trip and at the same time, take pictures for all of us. watched the video when we came back and the quality was super lousy. but it was still fun to watch lar haha. stayed at a 3-star hotel this time and this hotel seriously sucks. but then that was the best hotel in that area cuz we were in the suburbs of kunming and not in the city. well we started complaining bout every single thing of the hotel HAHA. according to the tour guide, 95% of the guys in china smoke which is really like damn alot. so of cuz it being a 3 star hotel, there were smoker everywhere. even in the restaurant lar. suepr smelly.
there was this grp of china guys at another table talking really loudly and my cousin (Jasmine) went like 'chao2 si3 ren2 le4!' (noisy like hell) hahaha i started laughing like hell cuz we were complaining bout the hotel and the restaurant and all and unknowingly, she extended the blame to innocent hotel customers. HHAHA but they turned out to be really really irriating and they perfectly fit the term 'china bastards', which my cousin (Ah Jie) came out with to describe the really rude china guys.
okay so there was this auction table in front of our table and ppl were supposed to shout out their bids form their seats. but these china guys apparently dun understand their own language and they just walk up onto the table with a cigarette in their hand. so unfortunately, our view was blocked and we had to endure all the cigarette smoke. well anyway something else happened too.
this singaporean guy won a bid for this painting and he sent his son up to collect it. but the china bastard appeared out of nowhere, slammed some money on the auction table and took the painting away b4 the poor boy could collect it. idiot. hate the painter too. he just stood by and let the china guy took the painting. coward. even the female host was brave r than him. she openly told everyone that the painter was biased and that she's on the boy's side. haha like the host, hate the spineless painter.
couldnt wait to get back to out hotel room. was disappointed once more when we found out that the tv only had a few channels. there was no HBO , starworld or any music channels which all the other hotels that we stayed in has. the bedsheet was really dusty too. woke up in the morning with parts of my leg itching.
haha filled up a feedback form and my rating for them obviously wasnt very good. suggested that they shld prohibit smoking. hahaha.
oh my tour guide earlier said that girls shld always ans the hotel door and phone cuz it may be prostitutes on the other line. haha was tyring to get my bro to speak like a girl cuz he was sharing his room with another guy cousin.
hahah anyway this apparently happen to one of my tour guide's previous customer who was travelling alone. he went to answer a door and three women just suddenly rushed in and refused to leave. hhahaa my tour guide called them 'nu gui' (female ghost)
DAY 7 - 7/12/07
Reached kunming CITY. hahaha went to shiling place which reminded me of china bastards again. they seriously are rude ppl who just pushed whoever is in front of them to get to wherever they wanna go .well i got pushed and almost fell down if i hadnt steadied myself with a BLOODY ROCK. according to my sis who was standing behind me, the idiot actually turn back and smiled at me. WHAT THE HELL. i could have fell to my death cuz the ground was literally made up of rocks and the stairs which i was standing on had no railing. HAHAHA okay i'm exaggerating bout the death part but still, i hate that guy. my sis and i were wishing that he'd fall and he really tripped! HAHAHA both of us laughed at him. =D
stayed at the same hotel as the 1st day one. watched you me and dupree =) haha played pool again. argh i'm an expert at giving free balls to teh other team.
DAY 8 - 8/12/07
LAST DAY! given free shopping time. haha wasnt a good experience though. shopkeepers will just throw out their rubbish onto the pavement outside their shop. hahaha my cousin told us to look down, not ahead cuz we never know if we're gonna step on someone else's spit. lol anyway found out the china ppl like to
ahah the traffic in china is horrible too. we were all afraid to cross the road without the help of our tour guide cuz there'll be cars literally coming at u from diff directions. some vehicles will even just continue moving even when the green man is flashing lar. there're even motorcycles in shopping malls! goodness.
plucked flowers and strawberries today. super fun =D
haha had this mushroom steamboat thing for dinner which sucked for me cuz i hate mushrooms lol. went to the airport afterthat and said our byes to our tour guide. =/
started swapping air tickets cuz me and my cousins wanted to sit together. always a fun affair haha. had lotsa fun at the airport. me and my cousin (shirley) were figuring out how to open this water cooler thing to get the cups inside. both of us were like clawing at this glass thing which just wouldnt open. then this little boy suddenly appeared, opened the door and took the paper cups inside. apparently the glass was well, a glass, not a door. haha damn embarassing. i'm not smarter dan a boy then yrs younger than me lol.
the plane food was good this time round. cake chocolates peanuts honeydew tomatoes. didnt sleep at all on the plane. talked bout random stuff thru out the whole 3.5 hr flight with jasmine,

reached singapore and i think i saw jade seah at the airport.
went home and ate maggi mee WEEE. slept straight away after that without sleeping hahah.
looking forward to meeting my cousins on sunday. think its gonna be weird how they'll be in shirts and shorts. finally can see their real normal size w/o 4 to 5 layers of clothes haha.
